  I have had horrible experiences with Emergency Rooms, but after coming to Houston Physician Hospital this will be my go to from now on out. The staff was so amazing. When you are in pain you want to be validated and taken care of. Which is exactly what the nurses here did. They checked on me and made sure my experience was as comfortable as possible to compromise the pain i was experiencing. I would highly recommend going here. The doctor was very reassuring as well. Thank you so much to everyone that helped me here at this hospital y’all are so very heartfelt and it shows that this hospitals first priority is the well being of the patient.

  I received a back surgery here this past spring. Service for the most part was outstanding, however, my surgeon arrived more than an hour after the appointment time on the day of the surgery. This one star is not for the service though. The charges received were more than outrageous. Our insurance was charged $61,000 only for the facility usage, just for a one hour surgery. In addition, a random charge of $11,000 was given that was not in the estimated total maximum charge of $5,000 given before the surgery. That's quite ridiculous. Then came the physical therapy. I was taught a few exercises over the course of less than two hours. Let's say you're a well-paid doctor. You'd be earning around $100 an hour. I was charged $730 for less than two hours. Even if the physical therapist was receiving $100 an hour, what can speak for the remaining $530? Overhead? The elastic band they gave me? The sheets of papers that had the exercises printed out? Simply unreasonable. I want to be able to say only good things, but I simply can't. I'm lucky enough that insurance covers a large portion of the payments, and have the good fortune to be able to afford this. But what happens to the unknowing patient who wanders into this hospital's halls with a terrible ailment, only to find out after recovery that they no longer have a home to return to because the bank foreclosed on their house after the surgery with costs out of this world? Take it from me, if you want to have enough money to even afford a wallet, find a hospital with more transparent costs.
